dc.description.abstract | Iran and Indonesia have signed an agreement on the electricity sector in 2016, where Iran committed to build a 5000 Megawatt (MW) Mobile Power Plant within five years as part of the Indonesian government's target to fulfill the national need of 35.000 MW by 2020. However, until the end of the cooperation span, Iran has not taken any steps for the construction of the MPP at all. The Indonesian government cannot do much considering the agreement is very depending on Iran as an investor. External and internal factors such as the United States' economic embargo towards Iran in 2018, Iran's involvement on the conflict in Yemen, and MPP technology which is still in the development stage seem to be obstacles for Iran to realize the cooperation mentioned above.
