Uji Toksisitas Akut Larutan Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Histopatologik Insang dan Ginjal Ikan Mas (Cyprinus carpio)
Abstract
The aimed of this research were to determine the level of toxicity of Java ginger (Curcuma zanthorrhiza )
solution based on 96h-LC50 value, to analysed the histopathological of gill and kidney, swimming pattern and
respiratory frequency of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) who were exposed the Java ginger solution for 96
hours. This research was conducted since September 2019 until June 2020 at Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory,
Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science Mulawarman University. Toxicity test consists of two stages, namely
Preliminary test to determine lower threshold value (48h-LC0) was 100 mg.l-1 and upper threshold value
concentration (24h-LC100) was 1000 mg.l-1. And further testing to determine 96h-LC50 with 6 test
concentrations, namely 0 mg.l-1, 194 mg.l-1, 241 mg.l-1, 299 mg.l-1, 457 mg.l-1, and 696 mg.l-1. Each
concentration with 3 replications. Analysis of Probability Unit was used to determine of 96h-LC50 value,
histopathological changes of gill and kidney descriptively , swimming pattern and respiratory frequency with
tabulation and descriptively . The result of this research showed that the 96h-LC50 value was 234.43 mg.l-1
which mean that concentration could caused 50% of the test animal’s mortality within 96 hours, and the
criterion was moderately toxic.
