Evaluasi Tingkat Keberhasilan Revegetasi Lahan Pasca Tambang Batubara
Abstract
The coal mining system that is often found in East Kalimantan is the open pit mining system, this system causes damage to the surrounding environment. The improvement of disturbed forest land can be carried out through reclamation and revegetation activities. In Forestry Cultivation Areas, the guidelines for assessing the success of forest reclamation follow the Regulation of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia No. 60 Menhut-II of 2009. The purpose of this study is to present the success rate of revegetation activities carried out by PT Mahakam Sumber Jaya (MSJ). The study was conducted in the concession area of PT MSJ with IPPKH status, located in Tenggarong Seberang District, Kutai Kartanegara. The research method used a plot measuring 40 m x 25 m on revegetated land for planting years 2008, 2011, and 2014. Primary data collection included: percentage of plant life, number of plants, composition of plant species, and plant health, secondary data included: Environmental Impact Analysis document (AMDAL) and revegetation implementation reports. Data analysis uses the weight criteria listed in the Minister of Forestry Regulation No. P.60/Menhut-II/2009, with a total score of >80 = good, a total score of 60–80 = moderate, and a total score of <60 = bad. The research focuses on the revegetation criteria with a weight of 50. The results of the evaluation of the revegetation years 2008 and 2011 were worth 96 and got a weighted value of 48, in 2014 it was worth 92 with a weight of 46, with this value it can be said that PT MSJ's revegetation activities are in the "Good" category.
