Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy) Melalui Metode Pemotongan Sirip Ekor
Abstract
Gurami (Osphronemus goramy) is an economically important freshwater fish species that
experiences relatively slow growth compared to the other freshwater fish species.
Therefore, alternatives in gouramy culture to increased growth continue to be made. One
of them was through the tail fin cutting method, which was expected to accelerate the
growth rate, so that good growth will be obtained. The purposed of this research was to
analyze the effect of cutting method the tail fin to the growth of Gurami (Osphronemus
goramy) fingerling. This research was conducted in the Experimental Pond Units, Faculty of
Fisheries and Marine Science,Mulawarman University. Design of this research was used a
Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications. The
treatment consists of the control (no cuts), cutting the 25% tail fin and cutting 50% tail fin.
Data was analyzed with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and confidence limit 95%. Based on
Analysis of Variance showed that the results of this research indicated that among
treatment cut off the tail fin to control were significantly effect on the growth of the weight
and length, specific growth rate and daily growth rate. The growth of 50% cutting of fin tail
was the best than the others.
