Abstract
Tropical Catfish has a subterminal mouth shape, a type of villiform tooth type, has a short, stiff and non dense gill tapis. This study aims to determine the digestive anatomy, types of food and the Index of Preponderance of the Tropical Catfish (Mystus nemurus) also to determine the environmental conditions of the Tropical Catfish habitat (Mystus nemurus) in the Lake Wis Water of Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The study was conducted on March 17-30 2019 with samples obtained from the caught of local fishermen as many as 103 fish with a range of length 21-49.5 cm and weight 28-1.113 grams. Tropical Catfish samples that have been measured for length and weight for select the intestinal organs and stomach which preserved used formalin. The analysis of gastric contents was carried out at the Aquatic Ecobiology Laboratory. Analysis of Tropical Catfish eating habits is calculated with the largest index (Index of Preponderance). The types of food eaten by Tropical Catfish (Mystus nemurus) are fish with whole fish parts (Rasbora sp.), heads, bones and scales, insects with body parts, tails, legs and wings, litter in the leaves and stems of plants, whole worms, whole shrimp, whole snails, plankton in the form of phytoplankton and zooplankton and unidentified material. Based on IP value of Tropical Catfish food type, the main food is fish, while complementary foods are insects, shrimp, and litter. Additional food contained in the stomach of the Baung fish is worms, snails, plankton and unidentified material. Based on the type of food and IP value of omnivorous Tropical Catfish, it tends to be carnivorous. Based on the results of water quality measurements that have been compared with PP No. 82 of 2001 that the environmental conditions are still in the normal range and sufficient for the growth of this fish.
