This research aims to study the effectiveness of Avicennia marina leaf extract to prevent Vibrio harveyi infection on larvae of tiger shrimp. This study used a complete randomized design consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replication, namely ethanol extract A. marina 800 ppm, seawater extract A. marina 500 ppm, freshwater extract A. marina 800 ppm, antibiotic as positive control, and negative control. The leaves were chopped and dried, then extracted with water solvents, sea water and ethanol. The water used in this study is sea water salinity 29 ppt. Shrimp larvae were put into containers with a capacity of 3 liters as much as 500 larvae per aquarium. The treatment of A. marina extract started at the beginning of the experiment. The infection of V. harveyi was carried out by immersion as much as 0.1 ml/L with of 106 cfu/ml that was done 30 minutes after the larvae were put in container. The parameters of the study are the motility of the larvae, the morphology and survival of the larvae of shrimp. The results showed freshwater extract of A. marina 800 ppm showed better motility and morphology compared to ethanol extract 800 ppm, seawater extract A. marina 500 ppm, and antibiotics.en_US
