Abstract

This study aims to analyze the parameters of industrial liquid waste tofu, the water quality of the Mahakam River, and the level of water pollution due to waste tofu in the waters in Selili Village to the water quality of the Mahakam River. The method used is laboratory tests on water parameters by calculating the pollution index and comparing the results with the East Kalimantan Provincial Regulation No. 02 of 2001 for the analysis of tofu liquid waste and Government Regulation No. 82 of 2011 for analysis of river water. Samples in laboratory tests used three samples with six parameters, namely COD, BOD, DO, TSS, pH, and Ammonia. This research was conducted in Selili Village, which is located at Jalan Lumba-lumba, Samarinda Ilir District, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan Province. The results of this study indicate that the COD content in the tofu liquid waste sample is 1.120 mg/L and the BOD content is 0,3 mg/L and the highest COD content for river water is in sample 2 of 1.160 mg/L and the BOD content is 0,4 mg/L, thus indicating that the areas that are passed by the tofu industry have decreased water quality that has exceeded the class I water quality standard based on the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No 82 of 2001. Keywords : Water quality, tofu liquid waste, water quality standards, water pollution levels of the Mahakam River ABSTRAK Kualitas air adalah suatu kondisi sifat air yang menunjukkan kadar kandungan makhluk hidup, zat, energi, atau komponen lain yang terdapat di dalam suatu perairan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis parameter limbah cair industri tahu, kualitas air Sungai Mahakam serta menganalisis tingkat pencemaran air akibat limbah tahu pada perairan di Kelurahan Selili terhadap kualitas air Sungai Mahakam. Metode yang digunakan adalah uji laboratorium pada parameter air dengan menghitung indeks pencemaran serta membandingkan hasil dengan Perda Provinsi Kaltim No 02 Tahun 2011 untuk analisis limbah cair tahu dan PP No 82 Tahun 2001 untuk analisis air sungai. Sampel pada uji laboratorium menggunakan tiga sampel dengan enam parameter yakni COD, BOD, DO, TSS, pH, dan Amonia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Selili beralamat di Jalan Lumba-lumba, Kecamatan Samarinda Ilir, Kota Samarinda, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kandungan COD pada sampel limbah cair tahu sebesar 1.120 mg/L dan kandungan BOD sebesar 0,3 mg/L dan kandungan COD tertinggi untuk air sungai yaitu pada sampel 2 sebesar 1.160 mg/L dan kandungan BOD sebesar 0,4 mg/L sehingga menunjukkan bahwa daerah yang dilewati industri tahu mengalami penurunan kualitas air yang telah melebihi baku mutu air kelas I berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia No 82 Tahun 2001.
