| dc.description.abstract | Liana is a vine or climbs on other plants in order to obtain sunlight as a source of energy for its growth. Liana
is also one of the species typical of tropical rainforest ecosystems, and its presence enhances the diversity of plant species in the forest ecosystem. The aim of the research, undertaken in Wehea Protected Forest, East Kalimantan, is to inventorie and analyze the diversity of liana species in three different canopy areas: closed, semi-open and open. The research sampling method used is the purposive sampling by constructing ten plot circles with a radius of 17.8 meters, with an interval between plots of 10 meter.n Limitation of the canopy cover as a closed, semi-open and open canopy, obtained from the capture of hemispheric photograph. The photograph was taken by using glama applications on smartphones with the addition of a fish eye lens 235. The analysis obtained a percentage of header coverage of 60.57 per cent, 59.49 per cent and 58.54 per cent, and was grouped as open canopy (TB), semi-open (ST), and closed (TT). Observations revealed 38 individuals at the TT site, consisting of 14 species of liana; 67 individuals and 25 species at the ST site. An open canopy site has been founded with 47 individuals thought up of 15 species. The Diversity Index
for TT, ST and TB is 2.45, 3 and 2.49 respectively. The evenness index for all three canopies was 0.93 (TT), 0.93 (ST) and 0.92 (TB). The species richness index for each location is 14.82, 21.08 and 17.81. At the same time, the dominant index value for each area is 0.1, 0.06 and 0.1. | en_US |
