UJI FITOKIMIA DAN ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BALANGLA (Litsea cubeba (Lour.) Pers.) TERHADAP BAKTERI Stapylococcus aureus DAN Escherichia coli

Abstract
Balangla plant (Litsea cubeba (Lour.) Pers.) is an aromatic plant known by Indonesian people because every parts of this plant have fragrance like as citrus plant.This plant is a tree with a trunk diameter between 6-20 cm, and height 5-10 meters. The purpose of this study were to determine the secondary metabolites compound and antibacterial activity on balangla leaf extract ethanol against the growth of S.aureus and E.coli bacteria. Antibacterial test conducted by diffusion wells method with using a completely randomized design (CDR), which consists of 10 treatments specifically 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% and 2 control; chloramphenicol (25%) as a positive control and DMSO as a negative control. Each treatmentusing 3 repetitions. The results of secondary metabolites compound using qualitative analysis and antibacterial test results use non-parametric analysis Kruskal-Wallis test and continued test using the Mann-Whitney test. Extract ethanol of balangla leaf containi secondary metabolites compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic and steroid which its have antibacterial aktivities against bacteria test. The results of antibacterial activity of showed that S.aureus largest inhibition zona diameter formed at 100% concentration (15,91±0,950 mm), and the smallest inhibition zona formed at 10% concentration (9,58±0,361 mm). and for E.coli bacteria, have largest inhibition zona was formed at 100% concentration (16,23±0.416 mm), and the smallest inhibition zona formed at 10% concentration (9,63±0,321 mm).
