Some financial institutions impose a delay fine on the contracting party who breaches his contractual obligations. This raises controversy and disagreement among scholars, and their sayings and opinions differ according to their different points of view in adjusting the fine. This study seeks to shed light on the late fine from the perspective of the purposes of Shariah related to money. This study adopts the descriptive analytical approach based on library references. The importance of this study lies in the fact that it deals with the issue of the delay fine from a maqashid point of view, which is the supreme goal of the legislation of provisions. The study results confirm the prevention of the late penalty because it is an increase that is difficult to distinguish from usury.en_US
