Abstract: | district,Mahakum Ulu regency, because of contamination from domestic waste n the Mas river. Mamahak Besar communities are still taking their trash to the river In fact, there are still some who don't have toilets, so they sometimes defecate in the river (Annisa et al., 2022). Even though the community still uses the river water for hygiene and sanitation purposes such as bathing and washing. This can increase the risk of gastrointestinal diseases, especially diarrhea (Daramusseng & Syamsir, 2021). Rivers that are polluted with feces and domestic waste contain pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli and coliform (Ani & Harahap, 2022). This is certainly a threat to the public health of Mamahak Besar. It is necessary to test the quality of the river water to determine the level of the risk of digestive tract disease that can occur in the community. This research aims to determine the level of E. coli bacterial contamination in the Mas River, Mamahak Besar. The level of contamination with E. coli bacteria in Sungai Mas, Mamahak Besar, does not meet the environmental health standards based on Minister of Health Regulation Number 2 of 2023. |
