dc.description.abstractThe Hudoq Kawit ritual is one of the rituals used by the Dayak Bahau community to prevent a disaster the harvest of the community and its speakers can be found in Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan Province. That existed sincce ancient times where the Dayak tribe respected the spirit of the goddess if rice (goddess sri), this activity starts from clearing the land and then burning the land which is managed in aritmetic by the Dayaks in the rice planting period. After the rice planting period, which Hudoq or dance worship activities are started every Hudoq performer uses a mask that resembles an animal like a bird, after the rice planting period is complete the Hudoq Kawit ritual is started by rowing (village chief), to call the spirit of kindness then the doer Hudoq (male dancer) will recite the mantra. The researcher conducted this research in the Long Hubung village, the Long Hubung district. The method used is descriptive method with data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions / verification. The purpose of this study is to describe the form, meaning and function contained in the Hudoq Kawit ritual mantra Dayak Bahau tribe. Data collection techniques in this study used observation techniques and transcript techniques. The analytical method used is descriptive method or describes a problem in accordance with the existing problems in the study. The results of this study indicate that the form oh Hudoq Kawit ritual mantras can be seen from the line, stanza forms and language choices. There are two language in the Kawit Hudoq ritual spells namely Indonesian and Bahau Dayak languages. Then the function of the mantra contained in Hudoq Kawit ritual mantras is as a prayer suggestion, as a reminder and as rejecting reinforcementsen_US
