Title: Assigning Strategic Roles in Collaborative Writing to Promote Student Engagement
Authors: Ariani, Setya
Abstract: In higher education, collaborative writing remains positively important, as it provides students with opportunities to transform from completing tasks solitarily to engaging in socially interactive discussion. The potential of role assignment can serve as a pedagogical intervention for addressing student engagement in collaborative writing, but its effectiveness depends on how it is designed and implemented. The strategies are applied through explicitly assigning roles and responsibilities, role rotation, scaffolding, and participation monitoring.

Hudoq Kawit: Catatan Relasi Manusia dan Alam sebagai Rujukan Kebijakan

Title: Hudoq Kawit: Catatan Relasi Manusia dan Alam sebagai Rujukan Kebijakan
Authors: Max, Jonathan Irene Sartika Dewi
Abstract: Hudoq Kawit of Dayak Bahau is discussed here not just for its ritual characteristic.
It acts as an example that the idea of cultural preservation cannot be separated from
the environment where meanings and values are constructed as part of cultural
identity. Within a qualitative descriptive method, the relation between symbolic
culture and human interactions with their environment is explained to persuade
readers’ awareness of the nature of indigenous culture. Then, it also discursively
offers a view that policies related to cultural preservation must synergize with
other’s policies in different fields to achieve a holistic work for sustainable
development as Indonesia is working on the ratification of the UNESCO 2015
Convention.
