dc.description.abstract | Aspirin is one of the drugs known as NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory) which often prescribed. Rational knowledge treatment needed by the patient. Pharmacokinetics is a branch of pharmacology that can explain the fate of the drug in the body, such as changes in drug levels in the blood function of time, which can then be used to predict the effects of pharmacological, therapeutic or toxic effects of a drug. This paper describes a spectrometry (Uv-Vis) method for determination of aspirin in male white rats plasma. The study was using male rats weight 150-200
g. The animals were given a single oral aspirin 9 mg/200gBW. The serial blood was collected from tail vein of rats. Blood samples were obtained at 0, 0.25, 0.50, 1, 1.25, 1.50, 2, 2.50, 2.75, and 3 hour post-dosing and were analyzed using
spectrophotometer UV. The pharmacokinetic parameters of aspirin were calculated by recidual method. The results showed pharmacokinetic parameters were obtained i.e. Kabs=0.1064 (min-1), t1/2abs=6.7675 (min), Kel=0.0012 (min-1),
t1/2el=548.693 (min), tmax=43.37 (min), Cmax=1.0841 (µg/mL), Vd=7,897.172 (mL/gBW), and Cl=9.4766 (mL/min). | |
