The success and excellence of the Bugis people who migrated to Malaya many years ago cannot be separated from the inherited main character, values, and cultural identity, whether individual or group (collective). The Bugis' values and identities are Siri' and Pesse', which represent their worldview and way of life. However, the concept of Siri 'and Pesse' as the Bugis life philosophy is considered to be fading and less understood today by the Bugis community as a result of social changes that have occurred. The vast process of cultural assimilation and globalisation poses new challenges to the Bugis community's values, customs, and traditions, particularly for those living abroad. As a result of this situation, many Malays of Bugis descent can only identify as Bugis, but none understand or appreciate the concept of exposure Siri' and Pesse' as a life philosophy. As a result, the purpose of this paper is to trace and re-reveal the concept of Siri' and Pesse' as shapers of values and identity in the Bugis community.en_US
