Abstract

ABSTRAC Plan development of Kariangau industrial area in district of west Balikpapan, besides positive also negative affecting to the condition of economic social society environment. For the minimal of the negative impact require to be studied with a purpose to get actual data about the economic social of society condition, and to obtain the picture about social dynamics of cultural social in the area around the development activity of KIK, utilize management of possibility incidence of the impact. From result of research known that the dominant custom tribes in research location are Bugisnesse and Javanesse. They believe in Islam, so that the cultural value and norm which expand stem from Islam teaching. In location research is expand the negative cultural values like drugs, liquor, and gambling. Citizen humanity in general can cooperate. Social conflict between citizen humanity is small, which express have happened. Things that generate conflict are farm, theft, liquor, drugs and social jealousy. The assimilate process have happened among them. The institute functioning and existing social better for example RT, Group Farmer / Fisherman, Koperasi Simpan Pinjam and posyandu. Society perception to the industrial area development project of Kariangau, is very positive. Society assess that existence of the project will give benefit for them. Society living is generally farmer of paddy, palawija, and hard crop with pattern go about, and a period of rotation is 2 year.
