Pengaruh Penambahan Betaine Pada Pakan Terhadap Kelangsungan Hidup dan Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Jelawat (Leptobarbus hoevenii)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect addition of betaine to feed on survival rate, growth, efficiency feed, and feed conversion ratio, and determine the appropriate dose of betaine addition of hoven’s carp. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and three replicates, namely P1(betaine 0 g/kg feed), P2(betaine 3 g/kg feed), P3(betaine 6 g/kg feed), dan P4(betaine 9 g/kg feed). The results obtained showed that hoven’s carp fry showed a significantly effect on absolute weight growth (P<0,05), however not significantly effect on survival rate, total length growth, specific growth rate, efficiency feed, and feed conversion ratio (P>0,05). The result showed that in the P4 with addition dose of betaine 9 g/kg feed gave the highest average value for absolute weight growth, total length growth, and efficiency feed. The water quality during this rearing suitable to support the survival rate and growth of hoven’s carp fry.
