ANALISIS KONSENTRASI TIMBAL (Pb) PADA AIR, IKAN DAN TIRAM DI PESISIR BARU TENGAH BALIKPAPAN TAHUN 2022
Abstract
Background & Objective: Coastal pollution can come from human activities which can contain lead that can
contaminate waters and accumulate in marine biota and give an impact on the health. Inform ation regarding lead
pollution in the waters and marine biota on the coast of Baru Tengah is still limited. This study aims to analyze
the concentration of lead in water, fish and oysters on the coast of Baru Tengah against environmental quality
standards and determine the level of health risk. Method: The type of research is quantitative with descriptive
method and on-desk analysis of lead health risk level. The measurements of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen
and salinity of the waters were also carried out. Heavy metals were analyzed using the Atomic Absorbed
Spectrometer (AAS). Results: The results showed that the concentration of lead in the water at each station and
the fish studied was still below the environmental quality standard. The concentration of lead in oysters at all
observation stations has exceeded the environmental quality standard with the highest concentration at station 1
is 4,167mg/kg and the lowest at station 3 is 2,799 mg/kg. Oysters at stations 1 and 2 have an unsafe level of
health risk (RQ>1). Conclusion: Based on the results there had been environmental pollution by lead accumulated
in oysters and there is a health risk by oysters at stations 1 and 2. Suggestions that can be done are to carry out
control efforts such as controlling coastal space, realizing waste management regulations, periodically monitoring
the environment, applying environmentally friendly technology, applying waste recycling principles, and
measuring public health as a whole
