Abstract
This study aims to see the response of Climbing Perch larvae reared by biofloc technology (BFT) and fertilizer technology with manure (PK) as experimental treatments. This response is seen from the survival and growth length of the resulting larvae. Plastic ponds were prepared one week before the experiment began to grow natural food for the larvae. The brood stock was spawned and after it produced eggs, were then selected and placed on a larval net (4 liters volume) as experimental containers. The larvae reared at the density of 100 fishes/larvae nets, and reared for 20 days. In addition to the observation of growth parameters and survival rate of larvae, the level of variability coefficient is also observed. The result of survival rate and larval length variability coefficient indicated that larval maintenance system with BFT (5.4% & 7.37%) was significantly different (P <0.05) less than PK (13.7% and 10.23%), while the growth of larval length showed the value of BFT (0.885 cm) significantly different (P <0.05) greater than PK (0.643 cm). The result of these experiments indicates that BFT technology can provide better growth for fish larva, on condition that the stocking density used is concerned and the water quality is maintained especially for ammonia and phosphate.
