Kaitan Konduktivitas Listrik dengan Konsentrasi Larutan Garam Dapur
Abstract
Research of the relationship between electrical conductivity and concentration of table salt solution in several brands of table salt, i.e., brand A, brand B and brand C, has been done. Electrical conductivity (𝜎ฬ
) is used as the dependent variable, whereas
concentration (C) is used as the independent variable. The concentration values were 0.1% to 0.7% for each brand. Measurements of electrical conductivity used Conductivity Meter type pH/EC-983. Average values of the measurements of electrical conductivity (𝜎ฬ
) are plotted against concentration (C) of table salt solution. The result was a linear-straight lines which had positive gradients. They were 𝜎ฬ
= (1360000𝐶 + 694)µS/cm for brand A, 𝜎ฬ
= (1315300𝐶 + 644)µS/cm for brand B and 𝜎ฬ
=
(1281700𝐶 + 566)µS/cm for brand C. It seems that gradient of straight lines from those brands is quite similar. It means that generally, the content of ions in the various brands of table salt is relatively not much different. Whereas the positive value of
gradients have the meaning that the higher concentration of table salt solution, the higher value of electrical conductivity. Theoretically, it is compatible with the physical concept.
