It has been studied at many places that settlements adjacent to water bodies have led to deterioration of surface water quality due to unmanaged domestic waste. Benanga Water Reservoir is one of the water bodies in Samarinda that have been facing similar threat. The aim of this study was to observe domestic waste content in the water of Benanga Reservoir located on Lempake Village, Samarinda. The study was conducted for a month started from mid-May to mid-June 2014. The data was collected at the end of determined wet dan dry days at 4 sampling stations. The main and supporting parameter data were analyzed using Chi-Square test for comparation. Those main parameters include pH, BOD-5, TSS, Oil and Fats, while the supporting parameters includes DO, water temperature, turbidity, TOM, C-Organic, Ortophospat (PO4), Nitrite (NO2-N), Nitrate (NO3- N), and Detergent. Those parameters were then compared with the status of domestic waste water quality standards based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 112 Year 2003 for main parameters and Regulation of The Province of East Kalimantan No. 02 Year 2011 for supporting parameters. The measured domestic parameters then further analyzed using χ2 test (Chi-Square), and resulted χ2 count = 244.3048 > χ2 table 43.773, means that there were differences of all observed parameters among stations either at the end of wet or dry days.
