Giant clams (Kima) are a type of bivalve that are often found in aquatic coral reef ecosystems and are protected species. Shellfish is known to have an important economic value, namely as a source of food and its shells can be used as decoration and jewelry. The result of excessive exploitation causes the population to decline. This study aims to determine the structure of the Kima community and to determine the distribution pattern of Kima in the intertidal zone in the sea waters of Kaniungan Besar Island. The research was conducted in June-July 2019. Observations were made at 8 stations with transect lines as far as 50 meters to the sea. The results showed 3 types of Kima, namely Tridacna Crocea, Tridacna Maxima and Hippopus Hippopus. Tridacna Crocea is the most common namely as many as 52 individuals. The highest abundance index was found at 7 stations with 16 individuals / 100m², the highest diversity index at station 7 was 0.98 which was relatively low, the uniformity index at station 7 was relatively high with a value of 0.89, the dominance index for Hippopus Hippopus species dominated station 1, while Kima Tridacna Crocea dominated at station 7 then Kima Tridacna Maxima did not dominate at any station.en_US
