Analisis Kepadatan Mesoplastik Di Pantai Le Grandeur Kota Balikpapan Kalimantan Timur
Abstract
Plastic is one of the most common litters found in East Kalimantan beach. During pandemic when social activities were limited, many beach were temporarily closed. The aim of this study was to determine the types and abundance of mesoplastics found in Le Grandeur Beach, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan during pandemic.. A 100 x 20 m transect line was set and the transect was divided into 5 sub transects. A 5x5 m quadrant was placed randomly at each subtransect and each quadrant was then divided into 1x1 m subquadrant (25 subquadrants). As many as 5 subquadrants were chosen at random to be sampled for mesoplastic debris The most dominant type of plastic identified at the location was Film with a total abundance of 35 particles/m2, followed by Styrofoam 32 particles. The least abundance was Fragmen with total abundance of 8 particles. There was no significant difference of plastic abundance between the types of mesoplastic (Fiber, Fragmen, Film, Styrofoam).
