HUBUNGAN PERILAKU KESEHATAN LINGKUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN MALARIA PADA MASYARAKAT PERBATASAN DI PUSKESMAS AJI KUNING KECAMATAN SEBATIK BARAT KABUPATEN NUNUKAN TAHUN 2010
Abstract
Malaria is infectious disease caused by plasmodium and transmitted out by Anopheles mosquito.
West Sebatik has the highest number of malaria patients out of 9 subdistrict in Nunukan district.
Amount invention of malaria patients in Aji Kuning Health Center increase the three last year that is
year 2007 was 317 case, year 2008 was 831 case, and year 2009 was 1.955 case. While year 2010
total invention of patient until October was 771 case. This research purpose to know the correlations
behaviour health of environment with malaria incidence at the society in Aji Kuning Health Center.
This research used case control study design. The number of sample in this research was 106
respondents, with comparison for the group of control and case is 1:1 which matching with residence
characteristic. Data analysis was done using univariate, bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test with
alpha = 0,05 and odds ratio test to know the level of risk. The result of research showed that have
factors correlation with malaria incidence is knowledge (p=0,015; OR=5,417), the use of mosquito
net (p=0,019; OR=2,740), the use of mosquito repellent (p=0,029; OR=2,631), the use of wire netting
(p=0,027), the water puddle around the house ((p=0,047; OR=2,732), and custom to take hang clothes
insides home (p=0,003; OR=3,718). While factor which do not correlation is attitude (p=0,196;
OR=2,293) and the outdoor activity at night (p=0,057) For the local health volunteers are more to
improve activity counselling of malaria, for the local government can do division of mosquito net, and
for the public to fight breeding places and resting places Anopheles mosquito.
