dc.description.abstract | Synthesis of Fe3O4-ZnO composite material was prepared and characterized using instrumentation and its application to photocatalytically degradation of methylene blue has been carried out. The stages of this research are the first, the manufacture of Fe3O4 by the coprecipitation method, the second is the manufacture of ZnO by the coprecipitation method and the last is the manufacture of Fe3O4-ZnO through a solid-solid reaction then characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and followed by the degradation process of methylene blue. The results of the XRD showed there are a structure of Zn- Fe3O4/WO3 composites. In the SEM analysis, it can be observed that particle sizes of Zn- Fe3O4/WO3 was not uniform and tend to clump together and aglomerated. Optimization results on the degradation of methylene blue based on the variations of the type of catalyst used show that Zn-Fe3O4/WO3 has better activity than Fe3O4, ZnO and WO3.
