HUBUNGAN FAKTOR – FAKTOR RISIKO DENGAN TERJADINYA SINDROM SYOK DENGUE (SSD) PADA ANAK DI RSUD ABDUL WAHAB SJAHRANIE SAMARINDA PERIODE 2018-2020

Abstract

Dengue infection is one of the major health problems with high incidence rate in Asia and also in Indonesia. There are many factors affect the course of dengue infection disease. This study aims to determine the association of the patient's age, gender, leukopenia, hepatomegaly, gastrointestinal bleeding and albumin levels to the occurrence of Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS) in children. This research is an observational analytical research with cross sectional method. The sampling collected by purposive sampling method from the medical records of pediatric patients who had dengue infection and treated at Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda Hospital for period 2018 – 2020. The results were obtained from 116 eligible subjects, 49 (42%) of them suffered from DSS. The bivariate analysis found that the patient's age (p = 0.192) and gender (p = 0.140) were not related to the occurrence of DSS. In addition, hepatomegaly (p = 0.762) also does not have a significant influence to the DSS. Meanwhile, leukopenia (p = 0.000), gastrointestinal bleeding (p = 0.000) and albumin levels (p = 0.014) are factors that related to the occurrence of DSS.
