KEKUATAN REKAT TIGA JENIS KAYU DENGAN PEREKAT BERBAHAN LATEKS KARET ALAM PADA TIGA KOMBINASI BIDANG REKAT
Abstract
The wood industry in Indonesia is quite developing. Meanwhile, the supply of wood in the forest is decreasing. One
of the materials used to support efficient use is adhesive. The use of formaldehyde in adhesives poses a risk,
formaldehyde becomes a flaws because it is dangerous for health. The purpose of this research is to determine the
adhesive bonding strength value of natural rubber latex adhesives applied to Bangkirai wood (Shorea laevis Ridl),
Meranti Merah (Shorea sp), and Matoa (Pometia sp). This research is an experimental study with a completely
randomized 3x3 factorial design, the observed treatment factors are the type of wood and the combination of the
adhesive bonding fields with the parameters of the compressive block shear constancy and the percentage of wood
damage. The results of this study will be tested with ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) followed by the Least Significant
Difference test (LSD) at a 95% and 99% confidence level. The results show that the average value of compressive
shear strengthness of Bangkirai wood adhesive bonding block was 0,57 N/mm2, Meranti Merah wood 0,59 N/mm2, Matoa wood 0,67 N/mm2, compressive shear strengthness value on tangential-tangential adhesive bonding field combination is 0,67 N/mm2,radial-tangential 0,53 N/mm2, radial-radial 0,62 N/mm2. The wood types and adhesive bonding field combinations factors have a very significant effect on the adhesive bonding strengthness, as well as the interaction between the two has a real effect on the adhesive bonding strengthness.
