dc.description.abstractThe business plan the utilization of forest wood by PT. Ratah Timber in West Kutai District of East Kalimantan Province is estimated to also have positive impact than negative impact on the social economic conditions and cultural communities. From the results of the research before it was known that the average level of household income per month is not enough good or poor. In general, farmers their fields, and only a small part of the side and have a savings account in the form of money. However, some respondents have investment / property as land, electronic goods, motorcycles, motorized boats, and other goods. Local economic activities are still focused on the fulfillment of basic needs. Economic infrastructure is very limited. Tradition that is indigenous Dayak apply. The role of traditional leaders is quite dominant in solving problems related to indigenous issues. In general, they are Protestant Christian, Catholic Christian, Islamic and Hindu, but they are still alive and harmonious rare disputes that lead to the racial elements. Negative values such as: (1) Alcoholic liquors, (2) Karaoke (3) Marriage by contract, (4) gambling, and (5) drugs still do not go to areas of research. Social conflicts have occurred and it is a source of problems, conflicts can be resolved with a consensus / family. Assimilation process has occurred among them. Social institutions that exist and work well, among others, RT, Lembaga Adat, the Village Representative, Farmers Group, and Religious Institutions. Public perception of the business plan the utilization of forest by PT. Timber Ratah very positive. Society felt that the presence of PT. Timber Ratah will provide benefits for them.
