dc.description.abstractBagass is potential for active carbon source as its high cellulose content. In this experiment the yield of carbon got from bagass made by dry distillation method at 400 oC was about 23,5 %. This yied was infleunced by carbonization temperature. The data showed that carbonization temperature between 300-400 oC gave different yield, but the carbonization time between 120-180 min. showed no influence on the yield. Carbonization temperature and time, and their interactions showed no influence on clarity, acidity number, and peroxide number of the bleached coconut oil produced. However, the bleached coconut oil was clearer than the raw coconut oil.
