The research was conducted last February - April 2019 in The gulf Balikpapan Waters with a view to know growth and density of Thalassia hemprichii. Seagrass growth was measured by tagging methods and seagrass density was measured using by quadrat transects. The analysis carried out in The Water Quality Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science and Soil Science Laboratory in Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University. The result of the research was obtained growth rate Thalassia hemprichii ranged from 0.34-0.53 cm/day and 0.47-0.58 cm/day at interval the next 15 day. Thalassia hemprichii growth was the highest at south station and the lowest at west station. Thalassia hemprichii density was the highest at west station and the lowest at east station. The result of measurements water quality and substrate parameters, for The Gulf Balikpapan Waters has sand substrate with water temperature in the range 29-30°C, depth of water in the range 0.68-1.21 meters, turbity in the range 0.12-0.77 NTU, DO in the range 5.91-6.25 mg/L, water pH in the range 8.25-8.35, salinity in the range 29-30‰, Nitrate in the range 0.46-0.85 mg/L, and Phosphate in the range 0.02-0.05 mg/L.en_US
