dc.description.abstract | In recent years, the demand of honey has increased significantly, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The large demand of honey has not been followed by honey produce yet. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize meliponiculture through bee species characters and compatibility to the environment. Based on these, the study was done with the goals: to determine the activity level of Heterotrigona itama, Tetragonula fuscobalteata, and Tetragonula testaceitarsis; the daily activity pattern of each species; and the relationships microclimate (temperature, humidity, light intensity and wind speed) to the activity of bees. The study showed that the bee activities go outside of hives in range 3,000–4,000 times. All three species revealed those the highest daily activities occurred at midday. The activity of stingless bees appeared positive correlation to the temperature and light intensity, otherwise had negative correlation to the humidity. The other side, the effect of wind speed to the bee activities was not figure out yet, due to very limited variation of wind speed during the study. | en_US |
