The influence of Gross Domestic Product on Poverty Level: Panel Study on Kalimantan
Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the influence of GDP economic growth in nine cities through
out Kalimantan Island on the poverty level. We used panel data of these cities from 2015 to
2020 and employed regression for panel data analysis in achieving the research purpose. The
result showed that fixed effect was the best model to explain the negative and significant effect
of GDP on poverty level. However, the result varied if the cross-section effect was taking into
account.
