CO-PIROLISIS MIKROALGA HIJAU (Botryococcus braunii) DAN VICTORIAN BROWN COAL DENGAN VARIASI LAJU PEMANASAN MENGGUNAKAN THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSER

Abstract

The study on co-pyrolysis of Botryococcus brauniiand Victorian brown coal using a thermogravimetric analyzer has been carried out. This research aims to to study the potential of a mixture of Botryococcus brauniiand Victorian brown coal as a fuel source. Co-pyrolysis was carried out with four variations of heating rate, namely 10, 15, 20 and 25 C/min using a Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). The temperature of the active co-pyrolysis reaction of Botryococcus brauniiand Victorian brown coal ranged from 155.79 °Cto 545.27 °C, which occurred in three stages. The first stage was the evaporation of water and volatile compounds (20-200 °C), the second stage was the active co-pyrolysis (250-500 °C) and the third stage was the decomposition of lignin and carbon compounds contained in the mixture (500-800 °C).
