ANALYSIS OF HOUSING LAND CARRYING CAPACITY IN THE DISTRICT PALARAN, SAMARINDA CITY EAST KALIMANTAN

Abstract

Population growth has an impact on development in various sectors. Judging from the development of the housing sector is one sector that is greatly affected. In determining the location of housing requires a complex analysis in order to createa decent housing area. Based on the Regional Regulation of the City of Samarinda Number 2 of 2014 concerning the Regional Spatial Plan of the City of Samarinda of 2014-2034, certain locations have been determined to become residential areas. Palaran sub-district was selected and prepared to be a high density residential area. This study aims to determine the carrying capacity of the land as a direction for housing development in Palaran District. The method used is the method of unit analysis of land capability and land carrying capacity in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works Number 20/PRT/M/2007 and the Indonesian National Standard 03-1733-2004 concerning Procedures for residential environmental planning. The analysis technique in this study is the overlay technique using ArcGIS software and weighting according to the criteria for housing land use. In the analysis of the carrying capacity of the land, the results of the land capability are divided into 5 classes, namely high development ability, rather high development ability, medium development ability, low development ability, and very low ability. Based on the results of research on the analysis of the carrying capacity of housing land in the Palaran sub-district, it can be concluded that the results of the analysis of the carrying capacity of the land in the Palaran sub-district, the total area of land that can be developed for housing is 4,554, 88 ha, consisting of 1,091.01 ha of land area with high development capability. and 3,463.87 Ha of land area with a rather high development capability. The widest land capacity is in Bantuas and Bukuan villages
