There have been few studies examining the link between open economic and demographic policies and the integration of socio-economic indicators into employment, particularly in developing markets. To address this gap in the literature, this scientific paper investigates the relationship between foreign investment capital and population growth on labor force participation, considering the mediating roles of minimum wages, economic growth, and human development. The study focuses on the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) as a representation of a new economic growth center in Indonesia. Time-series secondary data from official government sources covering the period 2011–2024 were calculated using moderated regression analysis (MRA). The empirical results reveal that foreign investment capital has a significant negative effect on minimum wages, while population growth significantly and positively influences regional economic growth. Statistically, foreign investment capital significantly reduces human development. Moreover, foreign investment capital, when moderated by minimum wages and regional economic growth, as well as population growth moderated by human development, exerts a significant positive impact on labor force participation. These findings suggest that additional macroeconomic components beyond the current model warrant the attention of policymakers and further research.

<title>Do eWOM and Experiential Marketing Drive Brand Trust and Brand Love for MSME Products?</title>

<description>Do eWOM and Experiential Marketing Drive Brand Trust and Brand Love for MSME Products?

Research on brand trust and brand love influenced by electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) and experiential marketing is essential because both aspects play a crucial role in shaping consumer perceptions in the digital age. Understanding this relationship enables companies and organizations to design more effective marketing strategies that enhance trust and emotional attachment to brands. This study was conducted to explore the relationship between eWOM and experiential marketing on brand trust and brand love among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) around the Ibu Kota Nusantara or Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). A quantitative approach was employed, involving a sample of 170 respondents who are consumers of MSME products. Data analysis was performed using the partial least squares (PLS) approach with the SmartPLS software. The empirical findings confirm three main points. First, eWOM (β = 0.432; p = 0.000) and experiential marketing (β = 0.548; p = 0.000) have a significant positive influence on brand trust. Second, eWOM has a positive but insignificant influence on brand love (β = 0.013; p = 0.826). Third, both experiential marketing (β = 0.636; p = 0.000) and brand trust (β = 0.267; p = 0.002) have a significant positive influence on brand love. This study enriches the literature on consumer behavior by demonstrating that experiential marketing exerts a stronger influence than eWOM in fostering brand trust and brand love. Lastly, the findings encourage MSME owners to prioritize experience-based marketing strategies to boost consumer trust and emotional attachment to the brand, rather than relying solely on the impact of eWOM, particularly in the context of MSMEs operating in emerging areas such as IKN.

<title>Policy and Behavioral Gaps in Achieving Indonesia’s Renewable Energy Mix Target</title>
<link>http://repository.unmul.ac.id/handle/123456789/59170</link>
<description>Policy and Behavioral Gaps in Achieving Indonesia’s Renewable Energy Mix Target
Yoesgiantoro, Donny; Yusgiantoro, Filda Citra; Rahmawati, Rahmawati
The target of achieving 23% renewable energy in the energy mix by 2025 remains distant, as the actual figure in 2024 stands at only 13.1%. This study attempts to review the issue through the lens of the extended Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), aiming to understand the core reasons behind the failure to meet this target from the perspective of public behaviour. The focus is on assessing the impact of policy support on public behaviour regarding the adoption of new and renewable energy (NRE). The research employs a quantitative approach, involving 402 respondents from across Indonesia. Data were collected via an online survey and processed using structural equation modelling based on analysis of moment structures (SEM-AMOS). Empirical results demonstrate that all the hypotheses tested were supported. It was shown that policy support has a direct effect on attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control (PBC), and the intention to use NRE. Notably, the hypothesis positing that attitude, subjective norms, and PBC mediate the relationship between policy support and the intention to use NRE was also supported. Furthermore, the public’s evaluation of incentive policies designed to encourage community engagement with NRE received high scores, ranging from 7 to 8.3 on a 10-point scale. Overall, the findings reveal that the low level of NRE utilisation in the energy mix is attributable to limited public awareness of the policy, with 63% of the population unaware of its existence. Therefore, to achieve the target, the government must promptly develop an effective campaign strategy to raise public awareness and understanding of the NRE incentive policy over the long term. As a practical recommendation, the government should immediately implement such a campaign to enhance public knowledge and support for NRE incentives.

<title>Is Economic Development Experiencing a Shift? A Comparative Estimate on the New IKN</title>

<description>Is Economic Development Experiencing a Shift? A Comparative Estimate on the New IKN

The originality from this study lies in the topic raised about Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) by dissecting nine indicators in economic development. The urgency of this study is to see comparisons in the economic development landscape based on two different data: (1) before IKN in 2019–2021 and (2) since IKN in 2022–2024. The nine parameters of economic development analyzed are gini ratio (GR), income per capita (IpC), poverty (Pov), open unemployment (OU), labor force participation (LFP), economic growth (EG), human development (HD), inflation (Inf), and investment (Inv). The analysis scenario uses different tests (independent sample, one sample, and paired sample). The results of data processing implemented using independent sample test show that the two variables (GR and OU) are significantly related in an unpaired way. On the other hand, the one sample test predicts that eight variables (GR, IpC, Pov, OU, LFP, HD, Inf, and Inv) have a single significant effect. Then, through a paired sample test, it is reported that only OU has a significant influence in pairs. Overall, there are similar findings through these three tests, where OU is the only indicator of economic development that is consistently significantly affected over both different time periods. The implications of the current study are of concern to stakeholders with understanding and rethinking economic policies made towards sustainability in the new IKN.
